Lousy day. Sep 6, 2005

So, first things first. Some bastard stole my front license plate, probably on Friday night. I got a call about it from the Newton police department on Saturday, saying that someone with my license plate (but obviously not me from the physical description) stole gasoline in Newton, probably in a stolen vehicle. I'm guessing they're out of the state by now.

That's the backdrop with which we open today. I woke up early (well, early for me) to go to the Watertown RMV and get new plates. I didn't want to drive my car any more than I had to, so I drove to Waltham's central square, parked in the municipal lot, and took the 70 bus to Watertown. At the RMV, I waited about 30 minutes only to be told I had to actually come in WITH my license plate. Obvious, maybe, but clearly not to me.

(Aside: informs me that I was actually told that by the police. Fuck her and everything she stands for, it's MY story.)

So. Back to the RMV. I was thinking about going back to Waltham to get the license plate off my car, but I decided I was already going to be late enough to work. (At that point, I was probably going to be about 20 minutes late given bus schedules.) However, the bus decided to arrive 35 minutes late and was extremely overcrowded.

Anyway, I made it to work. Work was fairly uneventful.

On the way back, I had to figure out my route given that I needed to get back to Waltham Center rather than Alewife (my usual MBTA destination), that being where my car was. It appeared that my best route was the 505 Express Bus from downtown Boston. However, I made it there less than 5 minutes too late and missed the bus.

At that point, I decided to call and let her know I was going to be home late if at all. She said, well, actually, she's going to Davis Square to pick up a fish tank and I can meet her there if I want. That sounded fine to me.

On the way, apparently, she got lost and ended up in Porter Square instead of Davis. She eventually got here, but since she was 40 minutes late, her contact was already gone.

So, I'm sitting in the Someday Cafe, blogging this, waiting for a call from 's contact. I'm not sure what's going to happen, but anyway, yeah. That's my day.

How was yours?
