It's music quiz time again! May 24, 2006

I'm bored at work*, so you know what that means… MUSIC QUIZ TIME!!!

Here's how it works. I'm going to put my iPod in shuffle mode, and then I'll post some lyrics from the first 20 songs that pop up. I'll skip songs that I think are too obscure to be fair, or don't have lyrics. If you think you know one or more of them, post a comment with your guess(es). I'll tell you if you're right or wrong.

  1. Time is marching on, and time is still marching on.
  2. The days before you came were really all the same - the grayness I used to call freedom.
  3. Petals, they are falling, boys, within a red hot blaze.
  4. I walk the ward for you, babe - a thousand miles with you.
  5. Let's dance until siesta when the sun comes to life.
  6. I like your body - not so much I like your mind.
  7. Since you've gone I've been lost without a trace; I dream at night, I can only see your face.
  8. We take from our mother's skin, but the world is not to blame.
  9. They had one thing in common: they were good in bed.
  10. He grabs his duds and down he goes, to hew the coal that lies below.
  11. Somewhere, somehow, somebody must have kicked you around some.
  12. Did you think I wouldn't recognize this compromise? Am I just too stupid to realize?
  13. She said she'd always been a dancer. She worked at 15 clubs a day.
  14. I'm just a new man - yes, you made me live again!
  15. Oh, that funky feeling is what you need to get you through.
  16. Why not think about times to come, and not about the things that you've done?
  17. I get home at 5:00 and I take myself out a nice cold beer.
  18. You've got exactly 60 seconds to think about that stupid question - a baguette does not come with a bag.
  19. Just string her along, it's just not right - if I could then I wouldn't.
  20. I've travelled the world and the seven seas; everybody's looking for something. * Yes, I am being productive. I'm waiting for my test case to finish running. So there.
