My Llorona

By Nat Budin
To the tune of "My Sharona" by The Knack
Stealing the words of "La Llorona" by Susan Weiner and also "My Sharona".  Actually there are very few words in this song written by me.

"La Llorona" is Susan's song about a Mexican ghost story.  We perform it in Stranger Ways.  For that version of the song, see our albums, "Strangers at the Gate" and "Guilt, Angst & Fairy Tales."

This is a somewhat… different… version of that song.

Verse 1:
Hurt by her lover
Leaving for another
She turned on the only thing she could, Llorona
Hurt so dearly
Crying so sincerely
She took her children out into the wood, Llorona

Never gonna stop, give it up, such a dirty mind
Always give it up for the touch of the younger kind
My, my, my, my, my, woooo
La-la-la-la Llorona

Verse 2:
In the dark night
The winter, ha
The river where she's drowning all her kids, Llorona
Crying for the wrong, ha
And what she's lost
She'll never get them back from what she did, Llorona

Verse 3:
Hear her on the battlefield
The battlefield
Weeping on the streets of LA, Llorona
Weeping in New Orleans
New Orleans, ha
Weeping for the children lost today, Llorona

Oooooooo… La Llorona (x3)
